Analogue Community Highlights of 2022: Part 1

2022 is coming to an end, but before we start looking to a new year let's take a glance back over the last 12 months and some of the most creative and inspiring discoveries that came from the UK Lomography community.

Josh Parky Customizes the Lomo'Instant Automat

Right at the beginning of 2022 we sent UK-based illustrator Josh Parky a Lomo'Instant Automat which he customsed with some drawings inspired by all things photography. We talked to Josh about the process that went into making this one-off design.

Collodion Photographer Dave Shrimpton shoots with the LomoGraflok

2022 was also the year that we discovered the wet plate collodian portraits by Dave Shrimpton and we were very happy to hear that he had a LomoGraflok, which he was testing out in his studio. We talked to him about large format photography and how he enjoyed shooting with instant film for a change. You can read the full interview here.

LC-A+ Film Swap with Gaz and Lomomowlem

This couldn't be a proper Lomography round up without at least one film swap project. Our absolute favorite goes to UK-based film shooters Gaz and Lomomowlem who shot this series of photos using an LC-A+ with some expired slide film. You can read the full interview from them here.

LomoChrome Metropolis Lomowalk with Leicester Lo-Fi and Bring the Paint

We teamed up with Leicester Lo-Fi for a Lomowalk as part of the Bring The Paint festival, celebrating graffiti art. We used some LomoChrome Metropolis film and took to the streets of Leicester to seek out some of the specially commissioned large-scale murals dotted around the city. We talked to some of the participants from the walk and they shared their photos with us.

Beach-themed Customized La Sardina DIY by Kate Hook

Back in the height of the summer, when the days were long and warm, we sent photographer and Youtuber Kate Hook a La Sardina DIY camera to test out for her channel. Kate ended up customising the camera with a wonderful seaside theme then took the camera out for a test around the streets of Brighton. She documented the whole process via her Youtube channel. You can read more about this project and watch the Youtube video here.
