Analogue Community Highlights of 2022: Part 2
1 9 Share TweetAs 2022 draws to a close and we bring in the new year let's take a look back at some of the analogue highlights from our UK community.
Mixed Doubles with Tony Kemplen
Tony Kemplen is a UK-based photographer who manages to embrace the joyful aesthetic of film perfectly. He talked to us about his mixed doubles series where he shoots one roll of film with 2 or 3 different cameras, such as the ActionSampler and Pop 9. He adds color filters to create some truely mesmerising results. Tony talked to us about the process involved in creating such innovative shots:
"An awful lot is left to chance, which I like, and it's always quite exciting to see just what superimpositions have occurred. Some parts of the film are more successful than others, and I'm happy to get half a dozen interesting images out of a roll."

La Sardina Workshop with Steve Marland and The Modernist, Manchester
The Modernist is a magazine, shop and exhibition space based in Manchester that celebrates 20th century modernist architecture and design. We teamed up with them and photographer Steven Marland to host a special brutalist architecture themed La Sardina Lomowalk. The results from the group were really impressive, so we put together a recap article and asked the participants how they got on shooting with this 35 mm wide-angle lensed camera.
Natalie Kerr and the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens
Natalie Kerr's magical portraits caught our eye when it was revealed that she uses film and the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens to create her otherworldy shots. We couldn't resist talking to her about the artistry behind the photos and why she loves this soft focused lens so much.
London Design Festival La Sardina workshops
London Design Festival celebrates London as the design capitol of the world, and, for one week in September, the city becomes awash with installations, talks and events from some of the leading creatives and designers from London and beyond. We were honoured to team up with them and The Standard Hotel in 2022 for a series of design-themed La Sardina Lomowalks using the LomoChrome Metropolis film. We talked to some of the participants from the walk and they shared their results with us via our recap article.
