Lomography x Amarga Vintage: LomoWalk Salamanca - LomoWomen Edition

In collaboration with Amarga Vintage and Verónica Alvez Farias we have come up with a special all-female LomoWalk. Women, show us your passion for film photography!

We challenge you to capture Salamanca in new perspectives, photographing buildings and street scenes from unusual viewpoints. Observe the ordinary with different eyes and add a unique aesthetic to your photographs thanks to Diana cameras and our films!

Starting from the brand new Amarga Vintage store located in Calle Meléndez n. 5, we will reach Salamanca city center (Casa de las Conchas, Plaza de Anaya, Catedral de Salamanca, Huerto de Calixto y Melibea) and then we will continue our exploration along the river through the Skate park, Puente Romano and Parque Botánico and we will finally reach reach Barrio del Oeste before heading back to Amarga store.

LomoWalk Salamanca - Visión Femenina, LomoWomen Edition will take place on Saturday 11 of March at 11.00 am.

The event is free, but limited to 10 participants. On March 1st Amarga will announce how to take part in this special walk HERE.

We will provide one camera from the Diana family to each participant and a roll of film to shoot during this photo walk as well as the development, scanning and printing of the photos at our LomoLab. (All cameras must be returned at the end of the walk).

The exceptional host of this walk will be Verónica Alvez Farias, a talented photographer from Caracas, Venezuela, who resides in Spain. Verónica is a student of Fine Arts, with mention in audiovisuals from the University of Salamanca. In her photographic work, we find a celebration of femininity and cultural diversity, but with a disruptive attitude towards the gender roles and western stereotypes. She usually portrays people who are part of her environment from a feminist and intimate perspective and uses fashion as a transformative tool.

She's currently working on a project that revolves around the search for identity after emigration. She places her audiovisual work “Restos diurnos” as a precedent of this exploration – a piece composed of archival images that investigates the functioning of memories in the subconscious of an immigrant.

Amarga is a concept store that opened its doors in October 2018. The way of life of the founders, the aesthetic taste and idea of consumption is reflected in the store:
