A fisherman would once have lived here.

This album is dedicated to Jakob and the short time he spent with me here in Cornwall during spring 2019. Its also the first time in a while that I've wanted to shoot 'sharp'. The best film I had for that purpose was paterson phototec 100, not fresh but still pretty good after all these years. Shot at iso50, 15 minutes rodinal 1+50 . All shots with my Nikon F and pre ai 50 1.4.

@heliossstardeath thanks, I agree mate. I like how the handle is pointing down,as if someone is about to come out of that door. Details..

My favorite as well - I learn so much from the way how you observe photos. It is quite exciting.

@charliedontsurf Thanks. At a first glance of any photo one is impressed with the composition (or not) and/or an emotion is triggered rating a photo as beautiful or not. In this very case I think I would have taken the same picture if I had been at that place. But with such observations a photo becomes a story - I have now looked at it many times and one starts to imagine.....exciting. The sharing of such "image observations" is great - I have also looked at my shots more often and find so many new things/stories - often very different from the original intention/emotion when pushing the release button. And here one could even start to philosophize about synchronicity, isn't it?

@rolfmg awesome, Rolf. You've been taking pictures for much longer than I have and its so nice that you still have the enthusiasm, even excitement for it. I've got two styles, one is the quick spontaneous snapshot style that I so admire in others and then there is the more measured carefully composed type as in this example. I think anyone with a basic feel for composition would make much the same shot but that's why it works I suppose. Ideally for balance I'd have had a bit more of the right hand side in the frame but it was pretty boring so I decided to include the railings instead, the most important part for me, the handle had to be at the top third level, where the eye is naturally drawn. All these decisions happen pretty much automatically now as they probably do for you too. Composition is the king , no doubt if things are very static. There was an article this week on the lomo magazine, I can't remember the guys name, maybe max something. Anyway, he shoots the most boring subjects but his attention to composition and light was really inspiring for me, check it out if you haven't already, I found it fascinating to look at those mundane scenes through his eyes. With the continued pandemic I think to continue enjoying my hobby I'm going to have to turn more to that side of photography, candid people snaps just don't work for me these days, if I want to photograph action I can always shoot the surfers around here ( I've just bought a 600mm lens, if that doesn't get me close enough to the action I might as well give up lol.!
