The Japanese Cemetery Park is an interesting place. Nestled in the middle of a sleepy neighbourhood of bungalows in Serangoon/Kovan, it is so quiet, tranquil and peaceful and not eerie like most cemeteries.
The history is that it was founded by a Japanese brothel owner who wanted to have a peaceful resting place for the prostitutes who had passed away. After the war, a war memorial was added and some soldiers buried there. Apparently many significantly important Japanese people in Singapore have been buried here too.
