The "Castle Sea-Walk" of La Napoule

6

When the springtime comes back, it’s such a great pleasure to have a walk along the sea. And if you like castles as well, so you’ll find both at La Napoule.

La Napoule is a very nice little city near of Cannes. You can have a walk through the old city but what I really prefer is the “castle walk” along the sea… Come with me, I’ll show it to you:

On the port of La Napoule there’s a little beach and a very impressing medieval castle, the “Clews castle”. It was built in the XIVth century but after 5 centuries it was only a ruin. An American couple named Henry and Mary Clews bought it in 1918 and decided to re-built a “medieval style” castle. It’s a dreamy place, directly on the sea and you can of course visit the castle and the beautiful gardens.

Let’s go on with our walk: we need to follow a narrow way to walk between the castle and the sea.
Then we’’ll come to a very nice charming little beach, not the kind of beach to be overcrowded by tourists in summer like in Nice…. Walk away the sea, look at the infinite wide blue sea & sky, listen to the seagulls, lay down on the beach and just relax……. (if you know a better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon, tell me… ;))

After this relaxing time, we’ll go further to the port of “La Raguse”, very narrow and nice one. The 2nd castle is just above and is called “Agecroft castle” re- built 1911 by Harry of Lengley, an English man in love with the Cote d’Azur.
Finally we’ll take the way down to La Napoule and find again our departure point.

I really recommend to do this little walk if you’re in this area, among the best of all the charming seaside walks I know here :))

Maybe not everyone can travel, so LOMOLOCATIONS are a good way to do it.
Recently, I read a sentence that said: "The books are the travel to those that can not catch the train."
We could replace "books" by "lomolocations".
    Thank you for this trip.
    Congratulations.
