Please introduce yourself to our readers.

I am Issa Ng of ingworkstudio , a fashion and commercial photographer specializing in photographing people.

Leveraging on many years working as an Art Director and stylist on several international brands in the advertising industry, I was able to develop a strong sense of style, conceptual execution, composition and intense imagery.

With past loves and lives in London and China, I am now based in Hong Kong and continuously looking for fun and exciting projects to work on.

When did you starting shooting with Petzval and large format cameras ?

I started to shoot with large format camera five years ago, and I bought my first Petzval three years ago, it was made in France in 1860s.

What was your first impression of the Petzval 85mm Portrait Art Lens?

It’s almost exactly like the vintage Petzval lens,with the brass barrel, the waterstops, the focus knob , it’s totally the same.

After shooting with the Petzval 85mm Portrait Art Lens, what do you think about this new Lens? How’s it different from shooting with large format cameras?

After a photo shoot with it, I would say it gives a very similar shooting experience as the large format lens. Because of the Petzval's characteristics, you need to focus very carefully, and frame the subject close to center. These are exactly the same as the large format camera.

What do you like most about the Petzval 85mm Portrait Art Lens?

I like how it looks on modern cameras, vintage & modern. And now I can get the Petzval look photos anytime, sometimes you just can’t take the photos with large format camera every time and everywhere. Especially I exclusively shoot people.

What else would you like to shoot with the Petzval 85 Lens?

I would like to use the Petzval 85mm Portrait Art Lens to shoot some fashion assignments, it will surely look gorgeous!

Do you have any other ongoing or future photography projects in hand?

I am working on several projects with great teams and models, and I will shoot with the LCA-120 for a personal project very soon!
