Amsterdam is a place I love in a special way for its architecture, cozy attitude, and the civic sense of community Dutch citizens seem to share. I have visited the city a few times and keep going at least every other year. My favorite time of the year to be there is late autumn because the cold outside feels reinvigorating and the contrast with the warmth inside every shop and cafe always seems to surprise me somehow off-guard.

The best moment I've had this last time in town has been when in mid-afternoon I happened to exit from the metro station under the Central Station and a marvelous pink light bathed everything with a surreal atmosphere. Please note: I did take a couple of shots of that moment but, alas, they're on a different roll so you'll have to visit my LomoHome to see them!
