The Collage-Work of Kitty Callaghan

Photo-collage is a relatively new medium, having been introduced and flourished during the Surrealist era. We look into photographer Kitty Callaghan's "cut-and-paste" art through her fashionable portraiture.

Kitty Callaghan began her fascination for collage-work since she childhood, having the penchant for creating birthday cards and collages as presents, and as her teens came by, collage-work developed into books and artworks.

Now, her work develops into a unique series of playful yet stylish collages. She sources her imagery through antique and vintage bookshops, as well as second-hand photographs from private collections.

They're almost akin to paintings, with smudges of colors here and there as part of her aesthetics. Kitty's works have rocketed to professional work, having been commissioned by brands and companies like Elle, Russh, and Woolmark.
