Sarah Longworth: First Impressions of the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

UK-based photographer and web designer Sarah Longworth used the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System in a range of settings, capturing a styled wedding shoot run by photographer Nicola Dixon around the beaches of Northumberland.

Hello! Tell us a bit about your photography background.

I’ve always taken photos for myself as a way to relax. I got asked to shoot a few weddings for friends and I really fell in love with the whole experience so felt I wanted to specialize in this. I've been busy doing a mixture of styled shoots and weddings this year and I'm having a lot of fun.

What would you call your photography style?

To me, photography has always been romantic, partly because of the places I tend to gravitate to when shooting for myself, the countryside, gardens, castles. So I don't know if it's a style as such but if I can capture some of the romance and the magic of a wedding, or the tiniest of details of a place to trigger a memory then I'm happy.

What was your first impression upon seeing and holding the Convertible Art Lenses?

My first reaction was that they were really practical and manageable lenses to take out on a shoot. As I work with a lot of films I can get weighed down with a ton of kit, film and heavy lenses. So it was really nice and refreshing to have these powerful yet compact lenses to fit in my pocket.

How does the Convertible Art Lens System fit into your style?

Taking them on this particular shoot was great as they are really manageable and quick to switch around. My shoots are often outdoors and on the move, so conditions can change really quickly and I felt able to adapt really well.

Any pointers that one should keep in mind when using the Convertible Art Lenses?

I think a tip is definitely to get up close! I particularly enjoyed using the Proteus lens and getting some detail shots.
