New York in the summer is a fantastic place to experiment with photography. I had spent some time in NYC in 2011, and 2013 as well, but this new trip was the first time I explored the streets of the Big Apple through the camera’s viewfinder — there is always something new at the next corner!

One of the best photographic moments I’ve had during this trip was in Washington Square, right next to the NYU campus. It was around 9:30am and the sun was blazing through the branches of an old tree as I was walking past the square. The light had this enchanting, fairytale glow, and was bathing the ground and the leaves with a surreal shine. Luckily enough, I had my dear old Olympus camera with me.
