B L N K D Z is a new exhibition by community member Andrej Russkovskij, taking place at the erstererster Gallery in Berlin from 6th February.

This is a selection of analogue portraits taken in Berlin from October 2017 until now, where the models (people you could easily meet on your daily commute to work) are not just pretty faces, but actually, young adults who are not afraid to make a statement. They might have different backgrounds, goals, ages, and professions, but they're united by a similar brave, empowering, profound approach to life, which is undoubtedly also made possible by the city they all call home: Berlin.

Rootless and extravagant dreamers, opinionated and unprejudiced, sharply-witted, independent and faintly narcissistic. These are the Berlin kids in all their beautiful contradictions. Follow the hashtag on Instagram #meettheberlinkids

Andrey is very talented. So sorry I cannot be in Berlin at that time. Don't miss this event if you are in Berlin.

Yes, interesting models make for interesting pictures, however these backgrounds are distracting and lessen the impact of these images, in my opinion.

@tastyredhotburrito I have to disagree :) I picked these specific backgrounds to disclose even more about the Berlin Kids' personalities and taste. To me they add something rather than lessen the impact. They also helped my friends, who are not professional models, to be more comfortable in front of the camera. But I guess, it's personal taste and there's nothing bad with it ;) I'm personally not the biggest fan of studio photoshoots.

@andrejrusskovskij Good points that you make, I appreciate your viewpoint. One of my favorite cities, btw, served temporary duty in Berlin when I was in the Air Force. Loved hanging out in the Summer on the kurfürstendamm drinking coffee/beer watching the crowds. Definitely miss that place...unique to say the least.
