Unconventional Beauty by Celin May with the Petzval 80.5 mm MK II Art Lens
3 11 Share TweetThe Photographer Celin May, aka @celinmvy was originally born in Vienna. She currently lives in Copenhagen where she continues to pursue her passion for photography. Originally, she was mainly involved with painting and music, her love for photography was kindled by small shootings with her sister for their social media channels.
Celin tested our new Petzval 80.5 MKII Art Lens and together with Model Angie created an inspiring Photo series in time for this year's Women's History Month.
"...I knew I wanted Angie as my model for photos on this topic and occasion. She is a very strong and non-conventional type with a strong expression that immediately casts a spell on you. Her special type for me reflects the beauty in herself and being different than certain social standards would dictate. The photos show a courageous woman - as we all should be."
Celin tested our new Petzval 80.5 MKII Art Lens and even though it took some test photos to get her used to it, she says: "The soft light and colours have inspired me from the beginning."
About this year's International Women's Day motto #EachforEqual Celin says:
"I like that community is the focus, but at the same time, it shows the importance of individual action for our society. After all, we ourselves shape the world we live in and it is important to walk the path of change together, to achieve lasting change."
Celin also feels a change in the fight against structural sexism. Women support each other more and more and one dares to address topics that were previously considered taboo. Additionally, Celin finds that one thing above all helps:
"Being open, supporting each other and not being afraid to break new ground. I would say a strong woman can achieve a lot. Many strong women, who together seek change, can achieve much more."
"Every work of art reflects a small part of the artist, his story and feelings and no one should have to be afraid to express them - neither woman nor man. With my works, I want to motivate other creative people to be courageous, to be creative and to follow their passion."
Many thanks to Celin for these wonderful photographs. Head over to her Instagram or Website to see more of her inspiring works. Thank you also to Angie Hainzer!
