   It is based on the UK Ford Prefect. Same front grille, headlights,cabin. Side panels have been elongated & customised to raise height with lowered suspension

   @lomodesbro Also, so Douglass Adams probably pulled the character name "Ford Prefect" from the car. I guess the preferred Hitch-hiking car.
