So after Kodak bought the Nagel factory in Stuttgart in the early 1930's, Dr. Nagel continued to produce his camera designs and there are a number of models that have both Kodak and Nagel versions. This Pupille is identical in build to the Kodak but it featured the more expensive Leitz 50mm f3.5 Elmar lens. Unfortunately the body on my example is pretty beat up but luckily the lens is still nice. The real bummer on this one is the leather has a bad mildew smell which I have tried unsuccessfully to clean and restore. It's much better than it was when I got it but still smells a bit. The camera works well though so maybe I'll try some fresher film next time.
