   I do people in Venice have their own boats ? Or do you have to call a water taxi to leave your front door ?

   @lomaugustry A lot of people do have their own boats - mostly the locals. But there are plenty of water taxis offering their services. On top of this, most houses are connected to the walkways on at least one side of their building, so they also have the opportunity to walk.
