  • The Trees

One of the things I like about the split-frame style is that when scanning, you see the images in a totally different way. I decided I like these trees in this sort of triptych rather than two side-by-side. Shot with my chaika-2 on some very expired film.

I shot this one on my Chaika, which I have FINALLY! mastered. I've run several rolls through it now and they've all worked great. Exposures come out properly, it advances to the end... what more could I ask? Well, it would be nice if I could rewind the film in camera, but I'll take what I can get. :) In case it is not clear - these are three separate frames, taken "vertically", in half the space of a normal 35mm image. I like the serendipity of them together.

  • Flowers That Bloom in Hyperspace Tra-la

    shared by herbert-4 on 2010-06-16

Doubles with fractals generated mostly with Chaos Pro 4.0, a freeware by Martin Pringstl, photographed with an old SLR, from an old CRT monitor with brightness set at painful, and, then rewound and with same SLR photographed assorted flowers around the neighbourhood. The film was developed and scanned at a CVS Photo Kiosk. The negatives look pretty dense. I think the riot grrrls at CVS helped out, somehow, at the scan. I didn't do much to them. Anyway, I'm proud of these. Enjoy.

  • Looking down the stars of the Monument

    shared by filby on 2010-06-19

This has become my most liked photo, thanks everyone! I can still remember the moment when I took the photo, leaning the camera on the edge of the rail for stability and hearing the satisfying second click as the shutter closed. I remember wondering if it would turn out, I didn't expect this; These are the moments that make me LOVE film.
