Polaroid Supercolor 635CL - Definitely An Eyecatcher

23

The Polaroid Supercolor 635CL is definitely an eyecatcher. I’ve got exactly 4 of her since they are on sale at every flea market for about 1 to 4 euros. If you’re lucky you’ll get one with an old film inside, with some free shots. These old photos are often in a yellow, brown hue and full of bubbles. If you’re unlucky the development paste is dried.

The camera has a built-in “close up” lens for subjects less than 1.2m away. There’s also a tripod socket which I never used. The built-in flash is flashing with every shot. I don’t like that much, so I broke down the flash of one camera by violence. And I almost cut my fingers with a sharp piece of plastic. Later I recognized that I can stick some black electric tape over the flash.

Anyway, I love shooting with that camera. It’s easy to handle, and the exposure meter helps me with “shots from the hip”. I also like the lo-fi look of the pictures with light vignetting. The most of the pictures in the gallery are from 2008. I took the camera along on my trips to Tokyo, Paris and the Melt!-Festival. There also 3 pictures of 2009 from Copenhagen.

Hey man, the flash Doesn't trigger with every shot- the exposure button is two parts, the end, which if you push in uses the flash. There is a second, collar like part that you can push down independantly that should trigger an exposure without a flash. It's a rocking camera either way!

I've just found one my mum's had for years. Only problem is that Polaroid 600 film is mega expensive. Can anyone recommend another film to use?

@george97 since the battery comes built in the film pack, you'll just have to insert it all into the camera. Here is a video on how to load 600 film, hope it helps! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftP9kzzwKS4

There was no need to destory the flash really haha...

    The button has two parts!
The red, front part is for flash, and the black back-part is for pictures without flash!
You can move the parts seperately!

    Just try it haha :)!

WAY TOO LATE to reply but you over ride / cancel the flash by using the shutter button JUST BEHIND THE MAIN ONE!! No need to break the camera! Love my polaroids!
