2 Share TweetOh look! Is that some sunshine? With Summer just sneaking round the corner we’ve lined up a lovely bunch of workshops and events for you all in May, including a couple of special Petzval-based outings and a walk around the Southbank.
GQ Shopping Night and Petzval 58mm Exhibition Launch
Thursday 5th May – 6 to 9pm
Join us on this exclusive Carnaby shopping event where we’ll be offering fantastic discounts and free drinks. It’s also the launch of our spectacular new Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens exhibition featuring photographers from far and wide. It’s always a fun night so make sure to stop by. This event is free and open to all.
Covent Garden Puppet Festival with the Lomo’Instant Mini
Sunday 8th May – 1pm
For this workshop we’re going Punch and Judy! We’re going to take our Lomo’Instant Mini camera to the 41st annual Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival, and hopefully catch some rays at the same time. This workshop costs £10 and includes the loan of a Lomo’Instant Mini camera and 20 shots of Instax film. You must pre-book as spaces are limited. Ring 02074341466 now!
Brompton Cemetery with the Lubitel 166+ and Lomochrome Purple
Saturday 14th May – 12pm
The West of London and Westminster Cemetery (now known as Brompton) opened in 1840 and is now part of London’s “Magnificent Seven.” We’re going to respectfully skulk around the graves with our Lubitel 166+ Twin Lens camera, loaded up with some marvelous Lomochrome Purple film to make the shots even more eerie! Purple graves? Yes please!
This workshop is £15 and includes the loan of a Lubitel 166+ camera, a roll of Lomochrome Purple 120 film, including processing (developing + scanning to CD). You must pre-book as spaces are limited. Ring 02074341466 now!
Depth of Field Experiments with the Petzval 85mm Art Lens
Sunday 22nd May – 12pm
Our Petzval Art Lens series has now expanded to welcome in the 58mm version, but for this workshop we’re going to pair up the 85mm lens with a range of film SLR cameras to really show off the bokeh effect this stunning lens can achieve. Flora and fauna are going to be the main subjects as we take a walk around central London. This workshop is £5 and includes the loan of a Canon/Nikon SLR camera and 85mm Petzval Art lens, a roll of colour film and processing (developing + scanning to CD). London Wonderground with the Lomo’Instant Wide
Saturday 28th May – 12pm
London Wonderground is a ginormous fairground that’s opening up on London’s Southbank for the duration of the summer. It boasts a ridiculous selection of rides and attractions and is sure to provide a stunning backdrop for this Lomo’Instant Wide workshop! Double exposures, splitzers and colour flashes are going to add a Lomography twist to the proceedings, and we cannot wait!
