Location: Jaipur, India

I don't know what I expected, entering the capital "Pink City" of Rajasthan, but I don't think there was anyway testimony could have prepared me for my first encounter. Wandering around the seemingly endless markets, watching emaciated cows drift between piles of garbage and trying to escape the clouds of ground chili trying persistently to make their way into my throat, my mind couldn't help but attempt impossible comparisons between Jaipur and anywhere else in the world that I have seen.

Trying to capture what I could, I loaded and reloaded film rolls only to find after my return home that my trusty Minolta had malfunctioned and most of my frames had overlapped. These photos became my favourites of the entire trip, in my eyes, perfectly reflecting the manic beauty and bustling activity I experienced in this enchanting city that stole my heart.
