The past New Year celebration presented a lot of opportunities to take unique photographs. For the Lights and Sparklers competition, we challenged the community to incorporate colorful fireworks into their portrait shoots. Take a look at the electrifying shots that took the top spot.

This photo by @elegia may seem like the opposite of how one would usually picture a celebration: monochromatic and moody. However, this unexpected atmosphere is what made it stand out among the rest, making us crave about the backstory of this shot (not to mention a slice of what seems to be a delicious cake!).
