I have used many for small parts over the years. They also work in a pinch for holding paint (it will store well enough for a few days too when the cover is on them).

A good friend of mine works in a kindergarten. the kids love this parts. They tinker, they store their little secrets away. So a Kindergarten is definetly a good place for the canisters!

I use the black canisters to hold undeveloped film if it's been torn off from the reel. Sometimes sellotape them together end to end to hold medium format film. Clear ones hold small change.

I got so fed up with all the film canisters, boxes, cellophane and rubbish that I started buying film in bulk and rolling as and when I need it.

Discovered just the other day that they are perfect for £2 coins, about £32 when full.

When going camping or hiking they are great to store salt and/or herbs and spices and other small things. They are waterproof!

I store broken sewing needles and bent pins in one until I have enough to deliver to a doctors office or the hospital where my mum works for disposal in the sharps bin.
