Hello Natalia, and welcome to the Magazine! Please introduce yourself to our readers.

Hi, thanks for having me here! My name is Natalia, I come from Poland where I currently live. I'm 23 years old and art has been my interest since I can remember. I've always loved drawing and painting and since April 2019, I've been also doing film photography.

What made you choose film photography? What is your favorite thing about it?

In the beginning, I chose it simply because it was introduced to me first. A friend of mine gave me a film camera as a gift, so I didn't really have much of a choice but I fell in love with it and wouldn't want to change it to digital for now. What I love about it is that it makes you think about each frame and also you have to be patient to see the results.

We love the mood and color of your photographs. The colors are consistent and there's a soft glow to your shots. Was that a particular style you were going for?

It wasn't but I guess I just know what I like and maybe subconsciously I've been going in that specific direction, creating my own style.

We also like how you portray women in your portraits - beautiful and confident. How do you get them to look like that in your shots?

Well, I think that I just see women that way - as beautiful and strong. So it comes naturally for me to portray them as such.

How would you describe your photography work in five words?

In progress, aesthetic, striving, imperfect

Why do you take photos?

I've always had a very strong urge to create. Before photography, there was drawing and painting. I just need a way to express myself, a way to tell something about myself, my story. It satisfies me but at the same time makes me want more and more.

What would you like to get across with your photography?

My story, my emotions, and my way of looking at things in this world. I want to make people feel something when they look at my pictures.

Which do you think matters more - talent or skill?

That's a tough question. I think the most important thing is hard work (but also working smart) and constantly trying to improve, no matter the field (photography or anything else). :)

How are you doing during these crazy times? Did the pandemic affect your creative work?

I'm doing fine but it has been a tough time for me creativity-wise - I had to stop taking pictures for about three months in 2020 and now arranging a photoshoot is a bit more difficult. However I don't want to complain, these crazy times have also brought me a lot of surprisingly good stuff. :)
