Lomography X-Pro 200: Great Shots For A Great New Singer

I was invited to photograph a young artist, Vinicius Damião, and my weapon of choice was a Canon AE-1 and a 50mm lens — which has been my beloved gear for the past few years. On the process, picking the film was the easiest part, since I wanted vibrant colors, high contrast, intense saturation and grains as outcomes.

Lomography X-Pro 200 seemed just perfect for this project, and I truly believe I was right because the best results turned out to be the ones I shot with it. The shoot happened in a sunny afternoon, at the top of a building in São Paulo, Brazil.

If you haven’t heard anything about Vinicius Damião yet, I’ll tell you: he’s a 29 year-old Brazilian singer-songwriter who has recently released his first single.

The single, "Onde a Poeira Pousa" ("Where Dust Lands") has a compelling underground pop beat. Besides talking about the ups and downs of being in a big city, there is a mix between “collective pulse and individual melancholy” in the music video. "Onde a Poeira Pousa" is one of the songs of the EP he’s going to release on late January 2018.
